Introduction to Information Technology

 

In our introduction to Information Technology program, we cover the basics of computer hardware and software.

 

The main aim of the program is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide IT support services. This means that participants will be able to do the following. Support basic IT infrastructure and networking, Configure and support PC, mobile and IoT device hardware, Troubleshoot and problem solve core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation, change management, and scripting etc.

 

This program also prepares participants to take the CompTIA ITF+ and A+ Exams.

Technovation Girls

 

Technovation Girls is a flagship program of non­profit Technovation ( formerly Iridescent). It is the world’s largest global tech entrepreneurship competition for girls.

 

Technovation offers girls around the world the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to emerge as tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Every year, Technovation challenges girls to build a business plan and mobile app that will address a community problem.

 

The Technovation program takes students through 4 stages of launching a mobile app startup, inspired by the principles of design thinking: Ideation, Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Pitch.

Introduction to computer science and programming

 

This program covers the basics of computer science concepts such as abstraction, algorithms, data structures, resource management, security, software engineering and web development.

 

Languages include Python, SQL and JavaScript plus CSS and HTML. The main goal of this program is to teach students how to think algorithmically and solve problems efficiently.

Introduction to Cloud Computing

 

This program is best suited for those who have completed the intro to Information Technology program.

 

We will explore what the term Cloud Computing is about, and the various types such as On-prem or private clouds, public cloud and hybrid cloud.

 

Following that, we shift focus to Google Cloud and explore its features. Many of the aspects of Google Cloud that we explore will have its equivalents in other public cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.

 

The program will primarily prepare participants to take the Google Cloud Digital Leader, Associate Cloud Engineer Exams and Professional Google Workspace Administration Exams.
